1998 (Spotify playlist #5)

This latest foray into the world of Spotify playlisting takes me back to 1998 - the year I first logged onto the - at the time still relatively new-fangled - worldwide web. (I've barely logged off since, if I'm honest.)

Anyway, back then it would've taken about as long to download a single mp3 as it has for me to lovingly cobble this latest 32-song list together - i.e. quite a while really. But I hope you can spare an hour or two to give it a proper listen; the songs have been meticulously sequenced for your optimum listening pleasure (or something).

What do you reckon, have I missed something glaringly obvious? If so, let me know!

Great playlist again!

Divine Comedy - National Express, Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta, and probably something off The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill would feature in a 1998 playlist of mine.

Ooh yes, Flagpole Sitta. I'd totally forgotten about that. Would've made my list too :)

National Express was under consideration but I looked it up & it didn't come out until February 1999!

It certainly was a very good year.

Money Mark - Hand in your Head

And a bit of an obscure one, the b-side of Royal Trux Liar single, a version of Money for Nothing.

The Lily's Nanny in Manhatten, would have been a good one, but, when I check, falls foul of the technicality of having been released in 1997. Still, only a hit in 1998.

Blimey, I'd totally forgotten about Nanny In Manhattan!

Ah, I was going on when the album was released - wrong rules?

Yes, but only because I'm a fussy get.
