So there I was, still in the Imperial boxes. I'm not at all sure why I
picked this one out. I had never heard of Jimmy Griffin, and there was no
one listed...

He looks the absolute spit of Gurning Bob who used to do the pub quiz at The Hand In Hand.
Hope this helps.
PS: Th'album's on Spotify.
It doesn't have much to do with your post today per se - sorry - but as a regular reader of your blog (good work, by the way) I want to bring something to the attention of your readership, who seem to be a generally discerning bunch with good musical taste.
A campaign has started to get The Who to Number 1 in the UK singles chart, something they have never achieved. The campaign, like so much else these days, is being driven by social networking - please take a look at their Facebook group or their Twitter feed.
Their plan is to get the excellent "Baba O'Riley" to No. 1 by merit of MP3 download sales in the week commencing 16th Nov 2009. Seems to me that this would be a good thing. Please spread the word!
Good hair pun our kid.
Thought it was the singer from The Dubliners. Go on, google their images. Tis him today sure enuff.
Am now into the 5th of 7 Drunken Nights. By the way, I can't find that song. Do you have it b'chance?
Davy: Cheers. Will head over to Spotify for a listen.
Pip: They've never had a UK #1? Blimey, talk about overdue. Hope the campaign works!
Dickie: Alas I don't have that song. I've Googled the singer BTW and I see what you mean about the resemblance! He's not the McAloon doppelganger I had in mind though.
(I still can't think who I had in mind if I'm honest!)
Never. Not one. Hard to believe, I know, but they've always topped out at number two. Time to right that wrong but that can only be done with lots and lots of people's help... hence my blatant plugging for the campaign...
So blatant, in fact, that I got the link wrong in both of my comments (sorry). It should be tinyurl.com/WhosNo1 - cheers.
Christ - you're squeezing that pip.
As well meaning and heartfelt as it is, would those Who boys really appreciate the somewhat contrived and force-fed nature of their first No 1? Perhaps it's for the loyal fans?
Just a thought.
E from Eels? Or the Unabomber?
Actually, now I think of it, it may well have been Teen Wolf.
Beard aside, this CD really grows on you (Ouch!).
Seriously, first couple of the early tracks leave you scratching your beard(if you had one)then it all comes together and 'shiver me timbers'your Sprout fix is complete.
The Mans a rare talent,to be savoured, just like a good hot towel shave !!
You're on top foam today, Niall!
