They don't make 'em like this anymore...

Enough respect and a sizeable mention to Spike for pointing me in the direction of this rather wonderful clip, taken from Mama Cass's television programme in 1969. Cass, Joni Mitchell and Mary Travers perform I Shall Be Released.



By the way, in case you're not sure who Mary Travers is, she was one of Mary, Mungo and Midge.

Yeah, she should definitely get more kudos. It's like with the tennis - everyone bangs on about Virginia Wade winning Wimbledon in the year of Queenie's Silver Jubilee while poor old Ann Jones scarcely gets a mention despite winning three Grand Slam titles for GB herself. She's been swizzled by the history police!
