Hey, national and local radio station playlist controllers - look! There are some day-appropriate songs you could give a spin on a Monday morning other than I Don't Like Mondays!
It's a crazy idea, I know, but it might just work. Some of the songs below aren't even about massacring blameless colleagues or school friends either, so possibly act as less of a subliminal advertising campaign to any of the more unhinged members of the populace. Just a thought.
(Tegan & Sara)
And that's without even mentioning "Monday" songs by New Order, Candyskins, The Bangles, Duran Duran or the Leningrad Cowboys. (That last one would wake people up of a Monday morning if nothing else!)

Greetings, Snapshotters. Hope you're all Welles. We've got another Orson
quiz for you this morning.
Who are they and how are their songs connected?

I actually hear The Bangles played more on local radio round here... whenever I'm unfortunate enough to be listening to it.
And I like the Boomtown Rats too. But what do I know?
I don't dislike the Boomtown Rats per se, it's just the sheer ubiquity of that song that does my noggin in. Can't seem to go a single Monday without hearing it at some point. I'm clearly listening to the wrong radio stations.
I think you're right about Manic Monday and all. I like the Bangles though. (My discernment-ometer goes a bit skewiff where the 80s are concerned.)
Totally agree Mr Kips. Mind, it can be the same on Sundays and Fridays. Why can't these lazy fuckers put some effort in? They take the wages and bask in the glory of er, autographed photos.
Surely just a little prior planning and preparation would prevent piss-poor performance.
Why not just spend an hour over the weekend choosing a few songs that would sit well together on a Monday? Just a little depth please. Didn't they blend mix-tapes and themes when younger. Isn't that a pre-requisite at job interview?
And why do they need a shouty sycophantic side-kick young woman (who's just got in from clubbing, like), and some colourless tosser with congested nasal issues to tell me about the equally congested contraflow on the M62?
Wazzocks of the airwaves.
Have a nice week!

That told 'em, Dickie!

I did 'Monday' as a tap-in on the 'getting Jam song titles into briefing announcements' the other day. Today, in a marriage of one thing and another, I was pleased to do 'Precious' in advert for a Film Club screening of Lord of the Rings.
Nice work Adam. Keep us posted. Am following your progress with interest. As my teacher used to say, 'We have yet to see the best of him'.
When you gonna go for 'A Bomb In Wardour St'?
